A lot of you probably were totally surprised – Germany really beat the Portuguese 3:2 and is the first team in the semi-final. And guess what? I was totally surprised as well :-)

To be honest, I didn’t expect the Germans to win. Too bad were their performances against Croatia and Austria. Too bad were the premises with Joachim Löw being banished to the stand and Torsten Frings being injured with a broken rib. But Germany played extremely well, especially in the first half. And we have Bastian Schweinsteiger in our team. He won the match against Christiano Ronaldo & Co by scoring the first goal himself and preparing the two others goals by Miroslav Klose and Michael Ballack.

Schweinsteiger is a very good football player, but he seems to be a womanizer, too. What else could be the reason, that this extremely pretty blonde is his girlfriend? His looks can’t be the reason why.

What do you think? Why do footballers always have the prettiest girls? Because they are such nice guys? Because they are so unbelievably handsome? Or may be it’s simply because of the money they make and the life they live?

    One of the best matches I have seen of a German team in a match that really mattered. Respect!

    I wasn’t too surprised about the result (I was reasonably confident that Germany will progress), but I was surprised by the way Germany dominated the tournament favourite. If they can keep the momentum, they will go all the way!

    Coming to a different subject namely the pretty girlfriends/wives of football players. To be honest, most football players do not really have pretty girlfriends. But of course, there are the exceptions and they usually stick in the head, like Schweini’s girlfriend. But to consider Schweini as a womanizer, I’m not so sure! He certainly doesn’t have the looks and, sorry to say, also not the brain to be a womanizer! So what is it? I haven’t heard or read anything about Schweini’s girlfriend but they need to be more or less on the same level otherwise it is hard to imagine that they get along. And of course, for a certain kind of woman, it helps if you have a healthy income. I mean look at Donald Trump and his top model wife. I’m pretty sure that she didn’t fell for him because of his hair or his looks.

    Anyway, considering the looks and the capabilities I’m confident that Germany will win against Turkey. Although this might mean that the kebab prices will rise in Germany.

    That´s the problem with irony - it´s hard to transport just by writing some words. I thought the irony in my words describing Schweini being a womanizer would be clear, but obviously it wasn’t. OK, next time I try to make it clearer :-)
