It’s gonna be great! Von Joachim Herbert, 03.06.2008

Interview * Jorn Lande / Start of Avantasias The Scarecrow World Tour 2008

Jorn Lande 1You all know Jorn Lande as the ex-frontman of Masterplan and as an exceptional heavy-metal- and hard-rock-singer. I met Jorn at the rehearsals of Avantasia for their The Scarecrow World Tour 2008, where he was perfoming with Tobias Sammet, Bob Catley, Andre Matos and the other guys from this metal-all-star-team. Two days before the tour started, Jorn answered some questions.

TOWIU: Jorn, you´re travelling around the world with Avantasia for eight shows in eight different countries in 17 days. What do you expect from this tour?
Jorn Lande: I´m doing what I like to do and so I expect a lot of fun. Working with a professional production is always fun and since all the guys and girls are nice people, it´s easy to travel as a big family and have a ball.

TOWIU: What is the tour for you - a big party, an exciting trip or just another project?
Jorn Lande: You know, on one hand it´s a party, because it´s going to be an amazing tour. The gigs are massive, the size of the show is massive and the reception will be enormous.
On the other hand it´s a god investment careerwise, because Avantasia gets a lot of attention. Since the new album “Lonely Are The Brave” of my band Jorn was released on June 6th and we are going on tour in Spain, northern Europe and South America, it´s good for my main band as well.
For me the tour is not like sitting down doing a job. You´re allowed to do something that you dreamed of as child, which is touring around the world with a band. So it´s gonna be great!

TOWIU: Are you one of the artists that are very creative when they are on tour?
Jorn Lande: When I´m on the road I focus on nothing but myself and my performance and after a few shows I feel more and more confident. I also use the time on the road for writing new songs and lyrics.
